22,000 Mass. Home Care Workers Vote to Join Together to Transform Healthcare, Stabilize Industry

In the largest union vote in New England history, more than 22,000 professional home care workers have chosen to become members of SEIU—the largest healthcare union in the country representing one million health care workers—a move that will enable these in-home caregivers to have a united voice in fighting for basic needs such as decent compensation and health care coverage.

Supported by over 100 senior and disability advocacy organizations, the vote is expected to help stabilize an industry plagued with high turnover rates, thus transforming long-term care options for a growing aging population and people with disabilities. News release
